Including the Lord in your journey

The bible says,

Psalm 37:23-24 (New Living Translation)
23 The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. 24 Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.

This is so very encouraging to me. Though we stumple, we will NEVER fall for the Lord holds them by hand. God is with us every step of the way. I truly believe that today, the addiction to food and just "addictions" in general have gotten us in a rut with our bodies and with our health. Just as Eve was tempted by an apple and failed. We are tempted everyday by bad food and fall short so many times. How do we get to a point in our lives where we care more about what we put in our bodies?

The first thing I found helpful was educating myself about food. Why do I eat food? Why do I need it? What is healthy? What is considered unhealthy? Then I spent time in prayer asking God to teach me about food and how I am suppose to think about food. I noticed that after a while I no longer ate when I was bored. I learned "food" discernment if you will. (LOL) I started to care more about what I put in my body and how I cooked. I turned to the "Makers Diet" which was recommended to me by a good friend of mine that is a personal trainer. Also, he gave me some pointers on working out and most of all he gave me a sounding board. You have to have someplace in your life where someone or something can be your sounding board. But in all honesty, we simple confusing human beings, have overcomplicated losing weight. Basically, if you go back to the basics and eat only living foods (shop on the outer shell of the grocery store and don't go in the middle - the middle consist of processed foods)then our body will work the way God intended for it to work. It's basic knowledge that we already know and when we read it we say to ourself well "duh" I already knew that.... but the simple truth is. God created us to be seperate from the world? With that in mind, why would we eat like the world?

The bible says that we are overcomers. We have overcome the world. We can and will overcome bad habits and replace them with good habits. We will be healthy. : )

Dear Lord, we pray for you to deliver us from food addictions and unhealthy habits. Help us to renew our mind when it comes to food and exercise. Give us your power so that we may successfully get healthy. In Jesus precious name, we pray. A men. : )
